So, I've been on a little bit of a salsa kick lately....baby girl loves her Latin flavors. First I was all about fresh tomatoes and lots of cilantro, now I am all about tomatillos and lots of cilantro. And my new secret?? Getting my ingredients at a Mexican Market. Forget the grocery store chains, they overprice the necessary ingredients. I got 6 tomatillos for $1.50 and 12 limes for $1 (!!!). At the grocery store chain a single lime can cost 70 cents. What a rip off. And of course I am growing my own cilantro, however I picked my crop dry with my most recent batch of salsa. For heat, I add serrano peppers whole. As far as recipes go, I usually don't like to follow them. I know what I like, so for my salsa verde I just throw all my ingredients into a blender and call it a day. It's so easy.
So that is what I am sharing for today. Being pregnant I tend to sometimes have a one track mind (FOOD). And fresh salsa is so delicious and refreshing on these hot summer days.
Also, my shop is updated. I've decided I am going to start adding new things twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It may be more work but I have learned that the more often you add and update, the more exposure your shop gets. So I will be out and about this weekend looking for new things to add.
